The "illumination of conscience" or "Warning" is where God will reveal to each person the condition of their soul; all the sins they have committed and how they have hurt others.  The Illumination has been predicted by several saints (most notably St. Faustina) and at Garabandal http://www.pdtsigns.com/garabandal.html
At Garabandal the Illumination is grouped with The Miracle and The Chastisement.  The seers at Garabandal gave hints as to when this would happen.  There has been speculation every year over the last decade that  "this is the year!"  Well, although this site is wary of "date setting" and has never been successful at that, we have received an interesting prediction from Chris De Bodt from Belgium.  He gives the dates for the Illumination or Warning and the Miracle.   Following Chris's predictions is an interesting article from SpiritDaily.com also hinting at the soon fulfilment of these events and descriptions of what they will be like.  Another PDT favorite, Mark Mallett, gives his input on the matter, and then a softer side of how we are to come to each other's aid during these times, through Anne...

From SpiritDaily.com,  PDT Signs strongly agrees:

SPECULATION ON COMING OF CHRIST, LONG A PROPHETIC THEME, IS REACHING CRESCENDO

In the years since the French Revolution, there have been numerous predictions of the Second Coming, or at least some kind of major manifestation of Christ. Such speculation increased with an apparition of the Blessed Mother at LaSalette, France, in 1846, then in the wake of the famous Fatima secrets, and then again in 1948 with the establishment of Israel -- which many see as fulfilling a major requirement for apocalyptic events.

During the past twenty years, that momentum has reached a crescendo, in large part because of the occurrence of another major apparition, Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina, where, like LaSalette and Fatima, secret prophecies allegedly have been granted.

The Medjugorje visionaries have never said that the secrets contain a prediction of the Second Coming, and in fact one, Vicka Ivankovic Mijatovic, says that while containing predictions of very serious coming events, the nine confidential prophecies she has been given do not specifically address the anti-christ, the Second Coming, or the end of the world (which the Catechism teaches will follow the Final Coming).

But elsewhere there have been a flurry of just such claims, including those of St. Faustina Kowalska -- who in 1935 wrote that she had heard Christ tell her, "'You will prepare the world for My final coming'" and in 1936 allegedly heard the Blessed Mother say, "Oh, how pleasing to God is the soul that follows faithfully the inspirations of His grace! I gave the Savior to the world; as for you, you have to speak to the world about His great mercy and prepare the world for the Second Coming of Him Who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a just Judge."

In 1938 Faustina added a message from Jesus, writing in her diary that "as I was praying for Poland, I heard the words: 'I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming.'"

The Coming of Jesus also has been mentioned at Church-approved sites in Kibeho, Rwanda; Betania, Venezuela; and San Nicolas, Argentina, as well as a flurry of revelations that have never been granted Church sanction. The same is true in general Christian circles, where evangelicals, Pentecostals, Baptists, and nondenominationalists have loudly declared their belief that Christ is ready to return -- citing developments in Israel, which they watch like an augury.

The term "second coming" is used in what we have reported as the "1990 prophecy," an anonymous revelation that thus far has shown striking accuracy. Said this reputed revelation: "I will come not as a man of flesh, but like My mother, who already nurses Me and holds Me in her arms, as a light and power. I will manifest Myself in a series of supernatural events similar to the apparitions but much more powerful. In other words, My second coming will be different than My first, and like My first, it will be spectacular to many but also unknown initially to many, or disbelieved. Yet truly I tell you, the arrogance of the world will have been broken, and so many more than normal will believe. I will come in towering light. My mother held me in her arms at Medjugorje, as an infant. I will come as she has come, in light."

Perhaps never before in history -- at least not since the Middle Ages -- has there been such a surge in prophecy. In medieval times the prophecy ended up more a portent of chastisement than final events, coming in the midst of bubonic plague, which devastated a third of Europe.

Is the same true now? Are the prophecies more a foretelling of chastisement (which is mentioned at Medjugorje) -- or of something more cosmic?

The question arises again because of a recent interview with the seer from Betania, Maria Esperanza, who says that at the least the world should prepare for a major manifestation. She has referred to a coming period that will be a "new dawn of Jesus" and has said that "His coming is near." In more recent interviews she has expended on this theme and describes visions in which she has seen Jesus appear in many places from day to day in a way that brings to mind the way Jesus appeared during the forty days following the Resurrection. Perhaps significantly, "Betania" means "Bethany."

In her visions, the Venezuelan seer describes Christ as appearing to many individuals in what seem like manifestations.

"It will be very different than what people think," she says in The Bridge to Heaven. "He’s going to come in silence. People will realize He is among us little by little. His first presentation will be like this, because in those days an innocent person whom He loves a lot will die, an innocent person. This will shock the world, will move the world. Many people will believe. He will disappear for some days and appear again. He will multiply Himself, to assist everyone, in their homes, because this will be a definite thing. He will come and knock on every door. And then people will realize it is truly Him."

The question arises as to whether Esperanza -- whose site of apparitions was formally approved by the local bishop in 1987 -- is, like St. Faustina, making reference to the Pope when she mentions "a person whom He loves a lot." Many have taken the "spark" mentioned by Faustina as coming from Poland to be John Paul II -- who never has publicly foreseen the Second Coming himself but who has referred to our times as apocalyptic in the sense of the Church versus the anti-Church and good versus evil.

Esperanza does not describe it as a "final coming," but makes clear that major events and transformations are on the way and that the appearance of Jesus, however it is termed, will be preceded by major events.

Second Coming? Final Coming? A manifestation? Clearly, however we term it, and however it does or does not meet our preconceptions, something major, something historic, and something unusual, is ready to occur, in all likelihood within the lifetimes of many reading this.

AT THE BRINK OF WAR, MAN WHO CORRECTLY FORESAW 9/11 OFFERS NEW PREDICTION

Ned Dougherty

www.spiritdaily.com

Ned Dougherty, a Catholic famous for a near-death experience during which he was given prophecies (including one that foretold terrorist attacks in Washington and New York), has issued a stark warning for the coming period of military action. We submit it for your discernment. Like any other such prediction, it should be considered and then prayed about, not become a center of any obsession. With prayer -- and Christ -- there is always more light and hope than darkness.

But we are in a period of potentially prophetic times, and heeding Scripture, we will consider certain prophecies in the coming days, emphasizing that such predictions seem to involve scenarios of what would happen if the world continued in the state it was in at the moment of the prophecy. As another person with a similar experience once said, "During my experience, I was also shown events that are likely to happen in the near future, but was made to understand that nothing is absolutely fixed and that everything depends on how we choose to use our own free will, that even those events that are already predestined can be changed or modified by a change in our own way of relating to them. A successful prophecy is one that changes enough people to sufficiently prevent the prophecy from actually happening."

Nonetheless, the prophecies are of a serious nature. Dougherty, who now lives in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, as well as Long Island, once owned Club Marakesh, the hottest nightclub in the New York City suburb of the Hamptons (home to the super-rich) and a second nightspot in West Palm Beach, living the glamorous life of limos, models, celebrities, seaplanes, and Dom Perignon champagne [see original story].

All that changed on July 2, 1984, when something happened to him like a heart attack or a stroke and Dougherty found himself collapsing on the sidewalk outside his club.

According to Ned, he felt like he was "floating, suspended in a black, pit." As he was suspended in air he saw a "kaleidoscopic review" of his lifestyle and possessions, which then vaporized. Suddenly a mass of energy formed over him in the sky and shaped itself into a cylinder funneling upwards. He was drawn into another realm -- a realm in which he saw deceased loved ones, a realm in which he was enveloped by the Light of God.

It was during this experience -- which has transformed his life (he is now a daily communicant) -- that Dougherty asserts he encountered a Lady in light who stood next to a large globe of the earth and began to speak to him about the future of the world. Later, he believes he was spoken to by the Archangel Michael.

Referring to a book he wrote about the experience and a chapter on what he calls "future visions," Dougherty, in an e-mail this week to those who have followed his reputed revelations, states: "Many of you who have already read Fast Lane to Heaven know that we are now facing events more terrible than we ever expected to see in our lifetimes. Many of you have been returning to the book to read the 'future visions' recognizing that today's current events are all contained in the book. Following the near-death experience in which I was shown these future visions in 1984, even I thought that the world would never be reduced to the loss of spirituality and level of insanity in which we find ourselves today while at the brink of war.

"I was shown a vision of a large plateau in the Middle East. The plateau was surrounded by a dusty, dry, and barren region that seemed to be deserted and devoid of any life. I was told that future events at this location in the Middle East would start a chain reaction of man-made catastrophic events, first in the Middle East, then in Africa and Europe, followed by events in Russia and China. We are now at that point where it appears that mankind will cause a chain reaction of catastrophic events resulting in incredible devastation.

"As a human being and an American, I find myself conflicted with my true spiritual nature. I want to support our country, our president, and our troops who are now clearly in harm's way, but in my essence I am a spiritual being and know that violence will never solve the problems of the world.

"I find myself most conflicted by the Archangel Michael's Message (pages 172-174) which is clearly a warning to the people of the United States of America. We want to believe that the United States is doing 'the right thing' and that President Bush is truly acting by divine inspiration with a clear mandate in the course in which he leads us. But I have my doubts because of what I have been shown will happen if the prosecution of this war results in tremendous death and destruction.

"The Lady of Light told me that none of these future events need take place if mankind began to recognize and work with God's plan. The way to understand and work with God's plan is through prayer and meditation; through prayer to call out to God, and through meditation to hear His message.

"I was told that the world could be saved, not by its leaders, but by prayer groups throughout the world. I was told that the prayers of twenty could save a nation from war. I was told that the fate of mankind rested on our ability, individually and collectively, to change the direction of mankind in accordance with God's plan.

"So what can we do?

"Very simply, we can pray. We can ask ourselves what Jesus would do. Perhaps we can throw our hands up in prayer and beg for His return. Perhaps He will choose this moment in eternity to return and stop the insanity. Now that's something to pray for!

"From page 258: 'The future of the world is in our hands. The right choice is obvious. If each and every individual aspires to lead a life of love of God, self and neighbor, collectively mankind has the ability to determine the future of the world and to choose our destiny as a civilization. Individually we have the responsibility to do our part to achieve a future for mankind that is in accordance with God's plan. It is not for us to question whether or not God will allow cataclysmic events to devastate humanity. If the future of the world is doomed, it is of our own making. It must be a determination for us, individually and collectively, to change the course of events. God is making Himself available to us through His Holy Spirit  to give us the courage, strength and wisdom to change the course of future events for the betterment of mankind.'

Dougherty ends his latest missive: "PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!"

Whatever else we may agree or disagree with in such experiences and such prophecies, we can only second that motion.

CLAIMED NEAR-DEATH PROPHECIES FORESEE TIME OF GREAT NATURAL DISTURBANCES

www.spiritdaily.com
A while back we carried the account of a New York man who had what researchers refer to as "near-death" experiences. Simply put, he "died" and -- like so many others these days -- came back to tell about it. The event was so profound that, although it took some time, it set him on the path from owning a large nightclub in New York's most lavish suburb to a simpler life today as a daily Catholic churchgoer.
We were interested in that account [see previous story] because during his alleged experience he was shown future events and among them were the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. We can't vouch for every such experience. Like apparitions, they must be discerned. But they are interesting and in many ways similar to reputed prophecies from the Virgin Mary. Recent studies in Holland indicate that at least seven million people have had similar experiences, and a good number come back with what they believe are glimpses of the future -- and warnings.
How many are real? How many are good? How many can we take seriously?

There is for example Dr. George Ritchie, who "died" of pneumonia and claims to have encountered Jesus. "He opened a corridor through time which showed me increasing natural disasters coming upon this earth," claimed Dr. Ritchie. "There were more and more hurricanes and floods occurring over different areas of our planet. The earthquakes and volcanoes were increasing. We were becoming more and more selfish and self-righteous. Families were splitting, governments were breaking apart because people were thinking only of themselves. I saw armies marching on the United States from the south and explosions occurring over the entire world that were of a magnitude beyond my capacity to imagine. I realized if they continued, human life as we have known it could not continue to exist. Suddenly this corridor was closed off and a second corridor started to open through time. At the beginning they appeared very similar but the further the second one unfolded, the more different it became. The planet grew more peaceful. Humanity and nature both were better. Humanity was not as critical of themselves or others. They were not as destructive of nature and they were beginning to understand what love is. The Lord sent the mental message to me, 'It is left to humanity which direction he shall choose. I came to this planet to show you through the life I led how to love. Without OUR FATHER you can do nothing, neither could I. I showed you this. You have 45 years.'"
Ritchie's experience occurred in 1942, and indeed it was 45 years later -- in the later 1980s -- that the current trend toward enhanced natural disasters seems to have gained its current momentum.

We heard the same from Sondra Abrahams, a devoutly Catholic Louisiana woman who "died" of an allergic reaction in 1970. She says Jesus showed her a crisis with abortion (three years before Roe versus Wade) and also what she once described as "duplication" (but now knows as "cloning"). She was warned that these and other sins would lead mankind onto the road of purification.

Similar too was a former atheist named Howard Storm of Ohio who "died" in Paris in 1985 and was shown that the U.S. was on the verge of events that over the course of 100 to 200 years would break it down to a far simpler and more natural state because of its current waywardness. (The former atheist, who says a nun's prayers saved him, is now a minister!)

Many are those who see natural disasters. "I have seen the destruction earthquakes create," claims Elaine Durham, "Just watch the Pacific Rim. The Pacific Rim is really going to take a beating. I had knowledge of icebergs breaking up and moving into warmer waters. The melting of them raised the water table."

We don't know what to make of specific prophecies. There are those who foresee great quakes not only on the Pacific rim, but on the East Coast -- in surprising places. There are those who see a great geomagnetic change in the earth, including a switch in its very poles. There are those who see a complete breakdown in our infrastructure. This is not "doomsday." It is not the end of the world. It is what they describe as a purification, and one that may still be lessened with conversion.
"The vision of the future I received during my near-death experience was one of tremendous upheaval in the world as a result of our general ignorance of the ‘true' reality," claims another. Reinee Pasarow, who had her alleged experience in 1967, when she was only 16. "I was informed that mankind was breaking the laws of the universe and as a result of this would suffer. This suffering was not due to the vengeance of an indignant God but rather like the pain one might suffer as a result of arrogantly defying the law of gravity."

From this, they claim, mankind will emerge humbler and more peaceful, as well as holier than the arrogance we see today. There were visions of severe droughts, and volcanic eruptions in places like Hawaii -- eruptions that would be a reflection of social upheaval. There would be freak storms (which we have already seen in abundance). "The weather is going to be crazy," said one prophecy published in 1984, but after a long dark "hour" -- after a long series of tumultuous events -- humanity would be born anew and humbled.
Such prophecies, at least as they relate to climate and wars, are similar to apparitions of the Virgin Mary in places such as Nicaragua, Argentina, Venezuela, Japan, and the United States which have foreseen natural and military upheaval -- followed by the glory of Jesus. Does that mean the "second coming"? There have been both near-death experiencers and Marian apparitions that have claimed this, and we'll be exploring it shortly. One has to be cautious. There is much deception in our time, as we have constantly warned. Often, near-death experiences get tangled in the same problems we have seen with certain apparitions.
But such experiences have been recorded since Pope Gregory the Great (who kept a personal file) and there is also such a thing as legitimate prophecy, which is as old as the Old Testament.

Quakes? An asteroid scare? Melting icebergs?
"I was also shown events that are likely to happen in the near future, but was made to understand that nothing is absolutely fixed and that everything depends on how we choose to use our own free will, that even those events that are already predestined can be changed or modified by our change in our own way of relating to them," said another who "died" and came back with a vision.

For a May 2002 update see:
http://www.spiritdaily.com/tornadoes.htm
and also from Spirit Daily:
Ned Dougherty clinically "died" from respiratory or cardiac arrest on July 2, 1984, and during that episode allegedly had an experience with the hereafter and a heavenly entity he identifies as theVirgin Mary His prophecies also correctly foresaw episodes in his life. Dougherty had predicted that "a major terrorist attack may befall New York City or Washington, D.C., severely impacting the way we live in the United States" -- a prediction that has been fulfilled in only too obvious a fashion. It's called The Fast Lane to Heaven, and it's about Ned Dougherty, n July 2, 1984, something happened to him, something like a heart attack or a stroke, According to Dougherty (and remember, this is in a book that came out in March 2001), the "Lady of Light" -- who he would later identify as the Virgin Mary -- showed him events that would first happen in the Middle East and
then Italy. "I was told that these events would be acts of 'aggression, terrorism, and war, performed by self-proclaimed radical groups, supposedly in the name of God," he wrote before the events of September 11.  Dougherty flatly predicted that "terrorist attacks and acts of war and aggression
will continue to plague the Middle East, Africa, and Europe." He was shown a future in which violence would spread from the Middle East to Europe, and then to the former Soviet Union and to the Far East -- particularly China.
The greatest threat, he was shown, would come from China and a "two
hundred million army" (see Revelation 9:16). "The Lady of Light specifically told me, 'Pray for the conversion of China,'" claims Dougherty. "'The conversion of China to God is necessary for the salvation of the world.'"
But most remarkable was what Dougherty had been told about the U.S. "While acts of terrorism and war and political unrest plague the Eastern Hemisphere, the Western Hemisphere will be spared the worst of the terrorism," he was told. "However, a major terrorist attack may befall New York City or Washington, D.C., severely impacting the way we live in the United States."
Remember, this was recorded in a book released six months before the attack on the Pentagon and World Trade Center! Dougherty sees aggression in the Middle East, China, Africa, and Europe, while the Western Hemisphere encounters natural disasters. He says that without prayer and a strong return to a pro-life society, there will be destruction in New York by natural disasters, which he sees for the entire country and both coasts. "Freakish, erratic, and unseasonable weather patterns will create severe tidal flooding and erosion," Dougherty asserts in Fast Lane to Heaven. "There will be devastating tornadoes and wind storms; severe winter conditions with record snowfalls and freezing temperatures; record summer heat waves with severe drought; and an increase in destructive storms and hurricanes."  Dougherty is not talking about mere "signs of the times." He says he was shown visions of massive events and claims that he was shown that the banking and financial institutions could collapse "due in large part to the failure of the insurance companies as a result of natural disasters."  (Matching Theresa Neuman) If there is not a radical conversion -- and a great proliferation of prayer groups -- he foresees events that will affect both coasts. He says he was shown terrific ocean surges in Manhattan, on Long Island, and in Florida (at a bridge he believes is that span between the mainland and Key Biscayne). He believes that in the future coastal and other low-lying or unstable areas will diminish in population while mountainous and other "stable" areas become more desirable. It's his further belief that the "critical period of transition" will be completed prior to the year 2034. This struck home because there has long been the speculation that while events may occur throughout this century, major ones will be seen between now and 2040 based on the longevity of the seers at Medjugorje  (who are currently in their thirties and who say that they will live to see the secrets). Dougherty believes that spiritually-minded people "will be drawn together to create self-supporting and self-sustaining communities" and will serve as the architect's for God's plan -- which is at great odds with a world of abortion, immorality, and materialism. As for the Vatican, "I believe that a similar terrorist attack will occur in the future in Italy, specifically in Rome. I believe that a fanatical religious group on a much larger scale will conduct the attack although it will be directed against one world leader. The focus of the attack will be upon the Vatican and the papacy."

Businessman who purchased the land where Sister Neuzil resided for many years, in a convent.
Among the messages that Sister Neuzil received while living there was that the convent and land would fall into the hands of those not of the faith but that at the end of the century it would be reclaimed by a Catholic. This prophecy proved true when the convent was shut down and the entire property sold to a 'moonie'-type cult in the early 70's. Then in the late 90's Larry Young, a Catholic businessman bought the property. Now Young reports receiving an ominous message of the enemy in our midst ready to reign terror upon us.  This message was conveyed to www.spiritdaily.com shortly before the World Trade Center attack.

 @Spirit Daily
A couple months ago Larry Young, a businessman who has purchased Sylvan Springs in Indiana, site of the first apparition to Sister Mildred Mary Neuzil (of the "Our Lady of America" apparitions), told us of a "message" he himself had felt he received from the Virgin Mary. We don't carry every private revelation, but we believe the Spirit speaks to us all and we asked him to confirm the details because it had been accurate -- prescient -- and because he had told us of it just before the September 11 attack. He does not pretend to be a seer, but does have certain mystical experiences. His recollection, in more detail, presented for your discernment, along with two other letters:

 Hello Michael,
Yes I was told about a war on our own soil...that was the message in May..."the soldiers are already here...this war will be fought on you own soil and many will die... this will be a war like no other...the
enemy is 'the evil one'... your children will be targets." There has never been a battle of this magnitude involving good versus evil in the history of humankind!
I was told this was an attempt to break the will of our people to resist evil's great push to bring about the total destruction and annihilation of Israel... if they strike fear into the hearts of the American public they hope to paralyze us into not defending Israel as the evil nations look to destroy her. That is the real target here... Israel. It is not grou ation that is working alone, but several groups and nations that are working quietly together to bring this about.  A very powerful message was delivered a week ago Monday by Our Lady:
"Please. Follow the leader, Follow the leader, Follow The Leader!
WHATEVER happens...Do Not Be Afraid! Do Not Be Afraid!  DO NOT BE AFRAID!"
She was very emphatic!!  She went on to say...
"Continue to Pray The Rosary as you have... more will be coming to pray with you. This will be a place of safety for all those who seek the promises of Our Lord.  Always remember, prayer is the only true peacemaker!" She then said, "Until all nations are united in prayer, there will be no true peace."(You could truly feel the passion in her, the Virgin Mary's
(alleged) words...and she continues to say, "Please"  (Imagine how humbling that is.)  There are many more soldiers in our midst... these soldiers have devious plans to rain terror down upon our country... I feel they will be attacking our children in great numbers in the hopes of creating the greatest fear.
Our Lady did say she was with our President... I think his address to the nation was testament to that!
God will make good out of all of this... it is hard to reason, but these terrorist attacks, and the heinous acts which are still to come, may actually be the catalyst that brings about the salvation of the world. All people uniting in prayer and learning the true focus of their lives... giving glory to God!
